The first six episodes of the 2010 series were given an informal readthrough with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and the writers during June 2009, and then further refined; the Doctor’s comment of “Come on, Pond” was added based on how Matt teasingly spoke to Karen on set. The new TARDIS scene saw the Doctor saying to Amy “Come along Pond!”, drawing upon a playful phrase which Matt had started to use on set with Karen.
